Narrative Therapy strives to be a respectful and collaborative practice. The collaborative element refers to finding a way of working that best suits the person. Stories are shared in a therapeutic space to fully and richly describe preferred aspects of people's lives. This can be understood as a way of reacquainting people with skills and knowledges of living that may have become disengaged from due to the influence of the problematic aspects of the story/stories.
